Curious Thing started in July 2018 after our three founders asked each other, “What if we can make an AI curious?”
Seeing the limitations of today's intent-matching AI framework, they sought to build an AI that is designed to ask open-content questions and derive insights from people.
Today, our platform allows businesses to redefine how they communicate with their customers through proactive engagement. We have processed over 3 million minutes of AI-human conversations and have grown the core team to over 30 members.

Curious Thing uses conversational AI to deliver simple phone interviews for high-volume recruitment. We are scalable, reduce human bias and challenge the CV-based approach. Our team is driven by the values of being human-first, simple & pioneering. We have won the 2019 Innovation award at the Australasian Talent Conference and are a Global HR Tech 2019 start-up Finalist.
We utilize a combination of natural language processing, transfer learning and knowledge graph. The simple phone interview experience is customizable to preserve the candidate experience. The interviews are created and auto-scheduled for all candidates who speak to the AI interviewer through a 10-15-minute phone interview. The conversation is analysed and delivered through a data-rich dashboard with fact-based benchmarks of their performance against the attributes of the role. We integrate with all popular ATS.
